To Market, We Go

To Market We Go, a partnership between Kitchen Stories and kitchen makers next125, is a food and travel series that shines a light on European markets and independent producers to show viewers how to find, cook—and enjoy—the very best produce in their home kitchens.

The series comprises travel and instructional cookery videos, articles, social snippets and stories, as well as a series’ inspired recipe.

In addition to hosting the first two episodes in Provence’s Luberon Valley and at London’s bustling Borough Market, I worked on the series concept, created a web of content around the travel videos, scouted talent and locations, and managed budgets. The series has garnered hundreds of thousands of views on the Kitchen Stories platform.

This episode profiled chefs Lise Kvan and Eric Monteleon, who have breathed new life into the historic Hotel Le San Hubert in Provence. The content focused on their unique access to world to the region’s bountiful produce at the farmers’ market in nearby Apt as well as their relationships with producers in their local region, including a behind-the-scenes insight into small-scale goat cheese production.

The second episode in the series saw us travel to London’s to meet cookbook author Ed Smith whose book’s include a tome chronicling the city’s cosmopolitan Borough Market. Here, he introduced us to the varied producers, such as the fermenters at ‘Eaten Alive’, who make the market a celebrated resource and destination.
